Your website should move

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

― Rob Siltanen

I very much love the above quote by Rob Siltanen. I think it was used in a commercial on TV.   For me the quote is a powerful summation of being different.  We are all different (in looks, personality, likes, dislikes, etc) yet every day we fight to fit in. To conform.  To blindly follow guidelines and rules in nearly all areas of our lives. It gets us to the point where society can neatly fit us in to stereotypical roles, behaviours and patterns. Why?

I say this because of the research completed on website designs.  Designs for websites is an area where creativity can be limitless. There are billions of websites – all with the capability of reflecting human personalities and reflecting real differences yet, as the research shows, the majority of websites look and feel the same.  ‘No they don’t’ I hear you say.  There are website design sites with hundreds if not thousands of templates.   Exactly!  Templates limit creativity to standard layouts and themes and if you look closer nearly all websites are made up of still images and text on different parts of pages with standard header – content and footer layouts – Why?

Your website should be different and should move

We all know video is an ideal way to communicate messages and it’s much better than relying on text or still pictures. Yet how many websites have you seen today that are still? They do not move? – And I don’t consider pictures in a slider as movement! Nor do I consider scrolling pages or pop-up banners as movements.

There are sites that embed videos but why are videos just embeds?  If they are the best way to communicate why limit them by confining them to a template layout?

2b Acting is leading the way in using interactive videos as websites. With their Custom Selective Interactive Video (SIV) Website service you can have a unique real time video as your website with the usual website features embedded, such as buttons, links, widgets, forms, data from databases and more, making your website both user friendly, extremely informative and different.

Having a tailored and unique video can be just as quick to make as building a standard website but has less coding and is less vulnerable to cyber-attacks (as it very hard to hack a video) plus with SIV you will have a website that stands out from the crowd…  A website that is truly different.  And unlike most you will have a website that moves.

To find out more about turning all or just a part of your website into an interactive video contact 2b Acting and get on the fast track.
